In a recent post about iteration zero I said that we were waiting for permission to construct a team bullpen. Well, here it is. It’s conducive to osmotic communication and pair programming, and it has enough room for team huddles and the daily standup around the planning board.

Hi Simon,
I think that the layout of the work space is one of the most under rated factors. In my experience it can make a real big difference.
Osmotics work!
BTW. have you tried having everyone around a big island? We effectively had a big table with pairs sitting around it, and everyone facing each other.
We then forced to move to two small islands a few feet apart, when we changed offices, and you could tell the difference straight away.
The big island with everyone at the same table worked well for us.
Paul.
